Today we wanted to check out Graceland and the Elvis exhibition which is just next to the Guesthouse.
It is all well organized and features a number of exhibitions showing the life and accomplishments of Elvis Presley. I can definitely recommend a visit:
Then we went downtown and explored Beale St, where all the music and actions happened. Not quite on the level of Nashville but it was also in the afternoon and 93° F:
Then we headed to the Peabody Hotel. A luxurious old institution of Memphis and one of the best hotels in Memphis. They feature ducks in the lobby which obviously do a parade every morning in the hotel lobby:
Last but not least we visited the National Civil Rights Museum. Very interesting and well done. It’s hard to believe that full Civil Rights were only accomplished less than 50 years ago for all Americans:
Tomorrow will be an easy day. I will have to map out my next segments. I have decided to continue to ride on Friday to take advantage of cooler temperatures which finally should start tomorrow.
